Talking pollen filters, are they impregnated with something. My new purchase seems to smell like a tarts handbag when I turn the heater on :)

Nope. Carbon is for the "sniffer" built into the re circ mode. Double press the re circ button and it will cycle so the symbol is encircled with arrows and it will switch to re circ and cut off the incoming flow if it sniffs poisonous fumes, like diesel exhaust etc.

Any tarts aromers are curtesy of the previous owner. ;) usually trying to hide the smell of fag smoke or something repugnant stench.

Mine doesn't have a pollen filter fitted at all..... :(
