Wrong engine, should be a bike engine in there and not a V8, and those seats are dangerous IMHO...

This looks very much like an "oh, F**k! I forgot I had to get it through an IVA test" sale to me. ::)

The ones on the car or the ones laying on the ground in the first picture that he hasn't got around to fitting? ;D

Brake bias would be a bit interesting as it sits.. although with the boat anchor up front it probably needs to be biased forward a bit!

and those seats are dangerous IMHO...

They don't look any better or worse than the Cobra replica manufacturers put out - plain FG shells..

Ahh. TL;DR. :-[

So, he's got some decent rear brakes, but not yet fitted.

Not sure the lightweight radical-esque look really goes with american steel under the bonnet either.  :-\ Should have built a Cobra, IMHO.

Sadly, he's got to the point in the project where he's spent maximum money but realised minimum value. Put an SVA on it and register it and it would make a bit more, but I think his asking price is still rather optimistic. If it is due to ill health them I do sympathise, but I think many buyers of kits in this state will worry that there's some snag that means getting it on the road will be far from easy. :-\

Yeah, very much the wrong engine in the wrong application .. still at least it's a Chevy 350 rather than an RV8 made to look like one. As you say, should have built a Cobra (or an Ultima).

I wouldn't buy it for exactly the reason you state - you'd have to pull it half apart to check everything anyway and at best it'll end up Q-plated (not that there's anything wrong with Q plates, I suppose, but I was certainly planning on avoiding one on the Cobra)..

Oops! I appear to have salivated onto my keyboard. :-[

Q plates have their advantages, IMHO.

It's the sort of thing you'd take a punt on if it was a couple of grand, but (even if it was my cup of tea) it's too much of a risk to sink big money into (and also a bit of an unknown kit).

I did hear somewhere that the Ultima (as standard) has rather poor steering & front suspension geometry.. which did put me off the idea a little. Well, that and that I'd never get into one with a roof ;D

This will sound very silly but my main reason for wanting to avoid a Q plate was to be able to put a private plate on it when done  :-[ Except it seems anything with "AJB" in is stupid money (£2000 for 'R21 AJB' and R is still too new for my L reg donor) and I haven't found a nice 1966 plate with '428' in it yet..

I used to camp at Le Mans at the same site as the Ultima owner's club, so much kicking of tyres at the bar and drooling over cars ensued. I know that suspension geometry didn't put any of them off stretching their legs a little!

One year they had to abandon their normal Hull-Zebrugge-le Mans route, because the previous year one of their number went through a speed trap a couple of miles from the Belgian border. The driver elected not to stop, and, instead, lit up his supercharged 383 and ran for it.  ;D

Unfortunately, they had a helicopter on him and clocked him at 212 MPH. He got a letter in the post informing him that he was now somewhat unwelcome in Belgium. ;D

;D ;D Similar happened to a couple of friends of mine in France (oddly enough, also during Le Mans week) - €750 each and a ban and their wives got to drive home...

The FG shells are dangerous when combined with the use of a 4 or 5 point harness, they need to be reinforced for them to be safe... A normal seatbelt would be fine with them TBH but with harnesses they would just collapse...

Looks like the Batmobile seen much better looking kit cars.
