Title: Rear door panel
Post by: Blue on 20 April 2015, 11:36:41
Hi all, have Vauxhall Omega Elite 1999 and need to take off rear door panel to get at window mechanism (only purchased the car Friday and I was made aware of it). I have removed the six obvious screws around the panel but now I'm stuck and so is the window, open. your help would be much appreciated, have ordered a Haynes Manual but not here yet and I can't close the window, thanks for your time

I can't think exactly how the rear comes off. This is for the front http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90556.0 IIRC the rear isn't too different  :-\

Facelift or Prefacelift?

If facelift there's a screw behind the ashtray, and another under a grommet in the bottom of the handle :y

If it's prefacelift, then I can't help as I've never removed one :-\

Pull (carefully, though prepare to snap a lug) the rubber part of the door grab handle, you'll find a screw in there, if memory serves. Also ping out the 'scallop' behind the door handle (quite easy, and pretty hard to break/snap it) and there's another there. The grab handle has to come off before the rest of the door card does. If there are any I#'ve forgotten it's just a case of seeing where the handle is 'sticking' and finding a screw in that location  :y

Facelifts are totally different then by the sounds of it :-\

Fair few differences, yeah. Slightly more creaking noises from the PFL doorcards and handles, too, which Vauxhall foolishly deleted when they facelifted the cars  :)
