It used to be that kids could leave home legally at 16yrs of age as long as it could be shown that they were in no danger by doing so.Is it still the same?If so then there is nothing your ex can do to stop it happening.

Don't think she can stop him at 16. I'd be laughing at her and telling her if she didn't eff off I'd get an injunction.

Ah no nowt she can do about him moving but he is staying in education and has got himself a place at college pending exam results. As a consequence I have informed the CSA that they need to close my payments, then the dragon starts to breath they contact her for verification and she denies he is with me. 14 years could have served my time and been out by now if I had disposed of her all that time ago.

Your lad is 16, get him to tell them where he is living.

I'd pursue that angle and when they find he's not with her then she'll cop a load of grief.

That's the simple answer but they wouldn't talk to him when I rang them earlier said there not permitted to. Thought I had finished with all this shite.

Right...deep breath. You've obviously been paying this money for ages so a bit longer won't kill you (even though it will annoy you). Take advice, play the long game and don't let her wind you up. Things are drawing to a conclusion, enjoy it. :)

My brother and his wife split up a few years ago and his youngest daughter stayed with the ex-wife. Her ex-wife's sh*t stiring sister was staying with her sister and started a breakfast argument with the youngest daughter on her 18th birthday. The sh*t stirrer told her sister to kick her out and change the locks, while she was at college, so she did. :o :o :o

So not a good 18th to look back on. :( :( :(

When most relations had a go on Facebook on what she had done to her daughter, which was bad enough at anytime, but unforgivable on an 18th birthday, she then complained, it wasn't fair that she was seen by all of us in a bad light. :o :o :o

Since then she has happily lived at her dads. :) :) :)

At times some people are unbelievable. >:( >:( >:(

I left home at 13, I'd had enough (with my step dad), so I was off, which upset a few people.as I was made a Ward of Court in the UK High Courts aged 5 till I was 16 or 18 (cant remember which now), I was also Dual National and had 2 Passports so the World was my oyster. places to see, people to annoy, all that sort of thing.

All come to a grinding halt when they caught up with me and declared I had to go and do 2 years National Service for German Army, so promptly dumped the Dual Nationality thing and became solely British.

Ah, those were the good old days.  ;D

Good advice.......... :y :y

I can confirm that from the age of 16, a child, 'with capacity' may choose to live with the other parent and their is nothing the parent, usually the Mother, can do about it.
