As per, anywhere good at present for Power Steering Fluid? ECP, Amazon, others? Thanks to the wonderful OOF I've already identified it's Dexron 2 I want. :)
Quoted £9.08 inc vat at Vx, trade.
Ta, as ever, in advance gents :y

You will never notice a difference between any brands once you've paid for it.
Just buy whatever is easiest/cheapest.

Fair do's :y
Didn't know if there was any 'badge snobbery' with PAS fluid, or not :)

As long as it meets the appropriate specs, any is fine, but that Vx price sounds pretty reasonable imho :-\
-
Yep, compares pretty well with other prices I've seen on tinternet etc.., and combined with the convenience of just walking into the Stealer on my way home. Usual thing I can do that or I can spend £2 on fuel going to the place on the industrial estate to save 50p etc etc..

I got some from ECP, can't remember how much but quite cheap. Easily picked up as one about 1/2 mile from me.
Got a pump thing to extract the fluid from eBay :y
-
I think my PAS had some Coma shite, courtesy of Hellfrauds Trade when the pump was replaced.
I'm a bit more fussy on ATF though.
-
Further to this - Vx no longer stock Dexron 2, and he showed me the screen where they say now use Dexron VI
Anyone know if this is 'known' / proven? I was put me in the annoying position of making the trip to the Stealer and finding OOF and Vx disagreed, and I (of course) deferred to OOF's word over Luton's.
Having heard tales of Dexron 3 leaking past seals etc, does this mean Dexron 6 is even worse, or what? Knowing nothing about the stuff (how often do you change the PAS fluid? - this is a first time for me) Is Dexron 6 a proper substitute or not?
-
Dex6 is considered a direct replacement, Dex3 never was.
However, its not proven!
Changing the fluid is not to hard thankfully, if you were closer to me you could have some for free

That's a very kind offer Mark, thank you :) If I were nearer a couple of pints would appear as a thank you, too
After debating what oil, I've since found out that the last time the oil was topped up several years ago my old man put - and I quote - "some stuff that I pinched from a wagon in it" :o
Not sure if her running with (probably) the wrong fluid for a prolonged amount of time proves ...
a. that it doesn't really matter what oil is used that much
b. I've been lucky that everything is still working fine
c. a mix of the above
:)
