Title: Does anyone know of a reliable small car for sale for my daughter?
Post by: Kate on 11 May 2015, 20:05:39
Hi all.

Just sold my daughters Mini yesterday as all she did was moan about it. She kept ringing and saying it wouldn't go in reverse. ::)

Serek said it was fine and I drove it and it was fine. I sold it for her yesterday as she was 'doin' me 'ead in'. :o

Does anyone know of any small reliable cars for sale? It has to be 100% reliable and easy to drive or I'll get moaned at (a lot).

Thanks very much. :y

Sounds like the brat wants a smacked arse. I am willing to administer this punishment if you want me to, Kate, although, if she's really spoilt rotten, I may have to repeat it on a daily basis.

No need to thank me.

Micra, of pretty much any generation. I don't think they make an easier car to drive..

Indeed they do. But not all women are aware of this fact. :)

I sold it for £200 more than she paid for it so it was fine.

They're French so they have "that" reputation (you know - unreliable, terrible electrics etc etc).. which is probably the answer you'll get here ;)

The old man bought one with a 1.6hdi engine 3 years ago.
Had no problems at all and very good on fuel.
Also, if you give it a bit of boot, its lifts is skirt up and goes very well.
Also for a small ish car, its very very comfortable

If she's having trouble getting on with a car that others find no problem with, it might be worth stepping back a little and getting her to do the ground work and try a few cars first?

This particular example is on the expensive side.

Don't know if they went through a bad patch or what but I've seen quite a few Micras[mainly 05/55 plate cars]where the electric steering column has failed, and you really don't want to know Nissan part prices!!!

Ah, I always default to the older models, 2002-ish.

I had a cracking 1997 Micra Super S. Now no longer on the road :(

The issue you will hit with older jap cars and French cars is rot and reliability, jap cars rot around the chassis badly and French cars throw the towel in on any form of reliability.

Plenty out there to chose from so try plenty to narrow down a make/model and then find a good one.

Parking sensors will be working overtime. ;)

Did you notice the steering wheel when you drove it? only out ring turns, everything else stays as it was, took me a little getting used to. For that kind of money you can't go wrong, pay that for an Omega and you will back in the garage in a week, just ask STEMO............... :D :D :y
