Hi all.
Just sold my daughters Mini yesterday as all she did was moan about it. She kept ringing and saying it wouldn't go in reverse. ::)
Serek said it was fine and I drove it and it was fine. I sold it for her yesterday as she was 'doin' me 'ead in'. :o
Does anyone know of any small reliable cars for sale? It has to be 100% reliable and easy to drive or I'll get moaned at (a lot).
Thanks very much. :y

Sounds like the brat wants a smacked arse. I am willing to administer this punishment if you want me to, Kate, although, if she's really spoilt rotten, I may have to repeat it on a daily basis.
No need to thank me.

Most cars have reverse, so, tricky one. ;D
Would auto be... No never mind.
-
Micra, of pretty much any generation. I don't think they make an easier car to drive..

Indeed they do. But not all women are aware of this fact. :)

The Mini was short lived, Ms Kate. :'( :-* :-* :-*
Not expensively so I hope. :-\

I sold it for £200 more than she paid for it so it was fine.

She used to have the red and yellow one.
You must be psychic as she absolutely loves pink cars. :y

I tried but she said she doesn't like them.
I'd buy her one just for the laughs tbh. ;D ;D ;D

Has anyone ever had a C4? Are they rubbish then?
-
They're French so they have "that" reputation (you know - unreliable, terrible electrics etc etc).. which is probably the answer you'll get here ;)
-
It,s French Kate,goes without saying.
-

The old man bought one with a 1.6hdi engine 3 years ago.
Had no problems at all and very good on fuel.
Also, if you give it a bit of boot, its lifts is skirt up and goes very well.
Also for a small ish car, its very very comfortable
-
If she's having trouble getting on with a car that others find no problem with, it might be worth stepping back a little and getting her to do the ground work and try a few cars first?
-
Only using this as an example , but i think these are quite nice :-\
Small Car (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EUNOS-ROADSTER-OTHER-/121648404930?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1c52cf59c2)
Personally i would have to roll onto the floor to get out of it ::) But for a young person its a good hoot :)
-
Micra, Colt, Almera... Go Japanese and dull and you can't fall off.

Yes...well suited to a woman.
This particular example is on the expensive side.
-
Don't know if they went through a bad patch or what but I've seen quite a few Micras[mainly 05/55 plate cars]where the electric steering column has failed, and you really don't want to know Nissan part prices!!!

Ah, I always default to the older models, 2002-ish.
I had a cracking 1997 Micra Super S. Now no longer on the road :(
-
The issue you will hit with older jap cars and French cars is rot and reliability, jap cars rot around the chassis badly and French cars throw the towel in on any form of reliability.
Plenty out there to chose from so try plenty to narrow down a make/model and then find a good one.

Astra may be a size or two too large for a girlie.
Parking sensors will be working overtime. ;)
Crash...bang...wallop. ;D

Local dealer has a plethora of pre registered Astras for £12800 ish, down from £18k+ about £330 pm over three years...

For a small car it really is that simple.

List price for a 1991 Astra (Mk2) 1.8 SXI was around £12000.

Now I know why you think everything should be so cheap..
Opti, it's 2015 now! You've been in a coma for 24 years!

Fooking hell.....and I've had 3 wives in that time. ;D ;D

;D ;D Not being of sound mind would explain making the same mistake three times, I suppose :P
I think we should ask one question that I don't see anywhere else here - what's the budget for this daughterly car?
-
Her budget was £1800 and she was determined to get a C4.
She got this one yesterday.

Did you notice the steering wheel when you drove it? only out ring turns, everything else stays as it was, took me a little getting used to. For that kind of money you can't go wrong, pay that for an Omega and you will back in the garage in a week, just ask STEMO............... :D :D :y
-
£1125 for a 55 plate car with low mileage seems good to me. :-* :-* :-*
Just show your 'little girl' where reverse gear is, Ms Kate. ;) :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

£2000....big bucks? In your scrooge-like world, maybe.
Then again, I suppose it is the price of four or five omegas. 🚜
