I will in the very near future be changing cam covers and gaskets. What recommendations-if any-does anyone have for holding "o"rings and gaskets in place on cam cover so they don't drop all over the place when the covers are being placed back onto engine?Nothing appears in guide about this so does that mean nothing is needed and gaskets etc. will stay put?

Gaskets stay in place by themselve, I use grease to hold 'O' rings in place.

Ah,right thanks for that.

Should all stay in place :y

There are four small tabs in the cover moulding to hold the o ring in place. Should not really need grease tbh. But can't hurt.
If they fall out on their own they aren't quite pushed in enough.

Fair enough, think I'll maybe have a trial run first and turn covers over above a sheet or summat to make sure they don't fall out rather than doing it over the engine and finding out they do if I've not fitted them quite right.

Very wise. I do a trial run before attaching the gaskets as well. Just to make sure the cover can actually be fitted without knocking the gaskets off the cover itself. Bloody cable tray, etc.
