As newbie this query first on wrong section. But Joff replied quickly but not a solution.
Right.... 1980 registered with what I think are facelift door panels (like a 2003 plate model I saw.) The car is mainly pre facelift otherwise.
Screws removed. Door catch exposed via ashtray. But there is a hidden screw around the middle of the panel. Joff said look in the grabhandle recess for a moulding to be removed. Nothing there. I have easily located the moulding on the front door (which I don't want to remove!

				1980?

Facelift rear door cards have a rubber plug that you prise out that is within the handle / oddments cubby hole to expose the screw head.

 There is.

It's a small (6mm ish) round rubber bung in the bottom of the grab handle recess. Oik it out with a small screwdriver, and it'll reveal the head of a screw.

1980 registered Omega B's are quite rare though  ;D

Really hard to find until I gave the recess a good clean. Even then needed my glasses! Many thanks. great forum. Indeed, I think a W reg pre facelift Omega will be rare. Generally thought to be up to T reg. Peter

I think they are having a exclamation at your registration date, Peter...1980!!!!....Omega's were only a twinkle in someone's eye then ;D ;D ;D :y
Or.....are you suggesting engine size :y

1980 is the old W-reg, I think - if he has a 1999-2000 car on a W, maybe there's some confusion there? I know Omegas are getting on, but 35's pushing it!  :D

Here's what Omegas looked like in 1980...  :)

If it's a face lift, which it should be on a W plate it's under the rubber bung :y
