Title: Removal of rubber seal along sill
Post by: ajsphead on 26 May 2015, 17:11:24
Having a rustathon. I need to remove the metal backed rubber seal that runs along the length of the sill which the lower edge of the doors seal against. A quick search suggests that the rubber bit just unclips but I need to get the metal backing off too. How is it fixed onto the car ?

Thanks

No metal back...took mine off today....small screwdriver staring  at one end of the rubber strip and just lever away from the door step it is only clipped on to what looks like pop rivet heads that are fixed to the step itself...when you have finished it just clips back on with a gentle tap to re-secure.....easy peasey.. :y

Thanks. Yes it's the metal backing that has to come off to get at the rust underneath. If it's spot welded then fine, I can manage that.
