Have it up on the screen And its for the drivers side headlight out, But when i turn them on and off i see the light come on for a split second.. So is it not the bulb and that I need a HID headlight ballast unit :-\

Swap the bulbs to prove either way

Ok Rob Will do that :y

If you see it flicker then it's trying to spark up... Ballast is therefore likely ok and bulb is toast... Best replacing as a pair... Tother won't be far behind :y

As said, probably is the Bulb(s), the ballast units are quiet well built and made to last. :y

HIDs aren't covered by (that part of) check control. So look for other blown bulbs, particularly the 4 rear tail lights.

I was going to say that, but couldn't find anything to back it up!

It's only the prefacelift that have a tail & a stop/tail light each side. Facelifts just have a stop/tail.

Very true, as I found out today when checking all my lights were working, the brake light is also the tail light on the facelift.

The o/s just flickers when turned on so need to swap them over to see what happens
How do i get it out without force :-\

Right what ive just done is what rob said Above..
Went out and swapped the bulbs over,, And yes now its the other side And i could clearly see that the bulb was duff from looking at it,So I need a Set of Bulbs :y
TB: When i put side lights on everything is fine. When i put dipped beam on...Then i get the Headlight/Tail light Warning on the dash.
Been round and checked all bulbs & Brake lights,There is no other fault,Just the one HID Bulb Which once turned on gives me the Warning. And when i turn back down to side lights only, the warning goes out after a short amount of time..
So unless im missing something..The warning is for the Blown HID Bulb.

:o :o
I think one of mine is playing up also >:(
-
Osram or Phillips. And not from egay or Amazon marketplace, as the world is full of fake (which, trust me, are utter shite).
You will notice the difference just changing the bulbs, as HIDs degrade. I changed mine on the Bullet a couple of years back, as the illumination had got that bad. £60 should get you a pair of genuine Osram Xenarc 4.2k :y
-
So where else do i look to get them for £60... Halfords are a joke in price :-\

Oh yes they are :y
Put two of them Osrams From Robs link in today.. No more light :y

Hmmm, how could Check Control sense the bulb, when the Xenon Control Pack (Ballast to you and I) sits between it?
//TB scurrys off to look at schems

Not doubting for one second :y, just trying to understand :-[
Diagram not clear, but looks as if the ballast is directly connected to check control...
