Along with Air filter & Cabin Filter
Also purchased some new NGK Laser Platinum plugs & fuel filter will hopefully get them in tomorrow night.
I want to service the gearbox oil & LSD oil can any you guys recommend what to use I don't mind the cost I just want to use the proper stuff to keep it right :y (is there an additive for the diff oil? I had a look on autodata in work says that it takes 0.75L
Cheers

Dif oil is listed in the dif oil change guide.
Plugs won't make any odds. GM ones are fine. ;)

I use GM 10W-40 semi synthetic in my 2.2i 2003, but when my son went to VX they told him he needed GM 5W-40 fully synthetic instead. He asked why and was told any of there engines from 2001 onwards now need to use the GM 5W-40 fully synthetic.
Anyone know why or doesn't it really matter?

VX do recommend 5w30 fully for cars after a date. However, these V6's have been about for many years and have been fine on 10w40, hence it's what I use. Older engines tend to get a bit leaky on the thinner stuff. If you are worried, change the oil more often.

Firstly they're clearly special... GM semi synth is indeed 10w40, but GM fully synth is 5w30 not 5w40 ::)
Secondly, the switch to fully synth was primarily made to appease fleet managers as it meant that VX could use 20k mile service intervals as a selling point... less frequent servicing allegedly reduces cost per mile in maintenance terms :-X
Either oil is perfectly acceptable for any Omega engine, and if you buy it on offer or using TC, then genuine VX oil is an absolute no brainer, even if you change it at 3-5k intervals... (it's about the same price per gallon as helfrods will sell you a litre for) :y

Just realized I put 40 and should have been 30. :-[ :y

Don't recommend you use NON GM SPARK PLUGS.
Manual Gearbox oil is special gm oil although some say its just dex 3 atf.
The lsd rear diff need a tube of gm friction mod (£3.00 from gm dealer) added to the fresh oil or you can buy diff oil for lsd diffs from Fuchs and Silkoline etc.

GM specify the fully synth after a certain date for fleet marketing reasons, to extend oil service interval to 20k. Obviously you'd have to either not care about your car or be pretty retarded to leave oil in for anywhere near that long. For petrols, it needs to be changed once its gone from clear to a darker brown. For diesel, 3k max.

GM 10w40 semi synthetic in both the 2.6CD and 3.2MV6 every 3k to 5k miles/twice yearly per vehicle, made a little easier with the screw on oil filter conversion, and yes used lubricants for 3.2 diff and manual gearbox from Opie oils :)
