Title: Eden Vauxhall
Post by: chrisgixer on 01 June 2015, 23:45:33
Rang Eden Vx Bracknell number in my phone.
Reception put me through to parts. I order two wheel bearings, due in the next day. Next day I arrive at 5pm to pick up. Ian, seems startled, no wheel bearings. Can get them tomorrow? Aye? Got a voice mail saying they where in. Says I.

Seems Eden Vx have taken it on themselves to divert Bracknells unanswered calls to Reading. But don't say so when they answer, so you think your talking to Bracknell, when your actually talking to Reading. So I'd actually ordered from Reading parts dept, even though I rang Bracknell. Htf does this help if ordering parts you want to pick up in Bracknell?

So on the a day that Cavershan bridge is shut and the whole of Reading is grid locked I have to drive over there. Parts shut at 5.30. But the bearings are left with reception as sales are open until 7. Leaving Bracknell at 5.15 I get to Reading at 6.30.  >:(

While in reception I ring the Bracknell number, get through to Reading as Bracknell are shut, three different people answer, not one mentions Reading on pick up.

Manager gets my best Paddington bear and promises to get back to me. Yeah right! Although I thank him for the parts.

Today, ring Bracknell for an Hbv. "A what?" (Ian again) a heater by pass valve. Where's that ? Heater? Oh, heater valve. No! Heater BY PASS valve. Says I. Yes yes I know what you mean. He says.

Ian tells me....None in stock, can't get one until weds, can't do trade club. There's too many on abs. We can't really do that.  >:(

Ok we'll see shall we! Ring Reading. Any hbv's? Yeah several. Great, can you van one over to Bracknell? (Attention of Ian ;D )Yeah. ...pick up today? No problem. Trade club? Yes no problem. £15 sir. Fantastic.

After work, ring Brackell. Ian? Yes. I gather you have an hbv for me? Yes. Paid for? Yes. On trade club? Yes. Pick up TODAY. yes. Great see you soon. No problem. ....but btw, is this the same part you said you didn't have in stock? Yes. None in the group? Yes. Not on Tc? Yes. And couldn't get in until weds? ...er, yes. And I'm picking up today, paid on Tc in half an hour.? Yes.

Wtf where you on about there then Ian? Says I. Er er, looked up the wrong part number. Oh, the heater valve was it? Yes. Not the heater by pass valve that I asked for? Yes. But you did say you knew what I meant. Yes. But clearly didn't.......  ;D

Pure quality.  ::)

Bracknell always say they don't participate in Trade club.

I do like a challenge. ;D sadly I didn't have time to fish about paying for it at Bracknell as well. Just to rub it in. You WILL do trade club. ;D

Always nice to get things working your way.  :y

Fortunately, I have two dealerships within 5 miles from me who both honour TC - even if they are just as useless as Ian with locating parts.  >:(

Bracknell always say they don't participate in Trade club.

When did they start saying that? It's been a little while but I've never had a problem getting TC prices from the older fella, the younger one always has to ask the older one how to find the price, though..

I haven't used them that often but he's never initially agreed Tc saying we don't really do it. Even though Reading do. Same group etc.

 :D :D

That's about right. Got quoted three different prices for the same amount of oil at my dealer on different days. In the end wound up paying the 'middle' price, according to who served me that day.  ???

No different to TC or non TC type of thing that happens with other outlets, like PC World. Go down, pick what you want, query price...'No sir. that's online price' ...Go home, order online, then go to same shop and pick up same item...probably saved a lot.....ECP are the same !!! :y

Eden in Bournemouth are very good, you get a DDI and e-mail for named parts contact which is brilliant as you can build a relationship  :y

It's not just Vauxhall... Had a similar situation with Peugeot parts... Funny thing was though, it was at the Ford dealership when I tracked the parts down!!

There was the only dealer to officially recognise TC is WJ Kings...although Barnes will do a deal on most parts

I've found that branch in Bracknell is OK, if you go armed with the correct part numbers, still don't like going in there though, they never give you a seat to sit on when you feel your knees going weak at their prices. ::)

I think you'll find Wo kingham is between the two. Last I looked. And, strangely, so is my house. Funny that.

Wo kingham council send me letters ...and pick up my rubbish, and demand council tax, and refuse to do anything about the traffic caused by their road works, or the holes in the roads, or the Wo kingham council marked road sweepers that alway do a u turn at the end of our close instead of actually sweeping the end of our close.

I guess that must be Wo kingham then. :-\ ;D

My HBV was delivered the next day for £8.

My rear wheel bearing was over the counter at ECP for £21. All it took was my car's registration number. If it had been a paying job I would probably have gone for the SKF one for £40 the following day. Not worth worrying about on my own car.

Buying them they way you did is way too much buggering about for me.
