Title: Omega 3.2 intermittent sport mode /gear box function no fault code
Post by: darren757 on 02 June 2015, 20:47:08
Hi I hope someone can help!!
I have a 3.2 V6 estate 2001 with 110k miles .
Just recently box has not shifted down to first when stopping so struggles to pull away quickly .
If I manually select gears then fine.
Also sport mode will not work .
If I stop switch off and then restart its fine ..all works!
Irrespective if weather it still happens .
We have moved to a house with a bumpy muddy track and I wonder if it could be selector switch fault..haven't had any fault code pop up...any ideas appreciated.
Have filter and oils done on gearbox circa 85k
Thanks

Could be... Clean as per the guide, but first port of call would be fluid level as a rule :y

Does sound electrical. Do the gear selector lights and snow mode button light up they should?

ATF change certainly won't hurt. Every 60 to 80k miles ideally.

Are you ever getting Automatic Gearbox on the computer display (or the orange light under display if plod (check bulb works!))?

Sounds like gearbox limp.

Might be worth having a word with Jimbob who is nearby to get TCM read for errors.

Does sound like Gearbox going into Limp Mode. Check Alternator Output Voltage (High?) I know its not connected but had that on one of mine once.  :-\
