Title: sticking/jumping rev counter
Post by: pauls on 06 June 2015, 11:24:03
Not sure how to explain this but here goes. Last few days I have noticed that the rev needle seems to jump from 0 to say 500 then climb smoothly, also it will do this when you brake and then thottle again. It does this more at slow speed than at higher speed. It does go away after about 20mins of driving. Any ideas please

I wonder.... If the clocks are starting to fail, as mine did. Although slightly different in that mine would "buzz" when not working, this got worse until rev counter failed completely with the speedo.

Or, crank sensor issue. No codes I take it?

Have read a couple of threads about earth straps understand if correctly there is 5 of them. I only know of 2. 1 under battery tray and 1 on the bottom of the sump passenger side. Can somebody give me the rest.
