How does the top come off the manual gear stick ? Need to replace the gaiter :)
Is there not just a cable tie underneath/below the gear knob :-\ ...... that's what my manual Astra had :y
-
Pull up from the base, and should be a relatively visible/obvious means, as said, cable tie or similar, I thought? Failing that, destroy the old by cutting etc, then fit the new one with similar method, a cable tie or whatever's best. Most aftermarket ones etc I've come across have been elasticated though. (on Cavs etc, no personal experience on Omega manuals specifically)

I took the cap off the top and there's a rubber type bung thing underneath ???
I thought i could stretch the cover over the top , but no way :-\ Will have a look for the cable tie then :-\

Lift the base of the gear surround and pull up (inside out) there is a rubber o ring at the bottom of the gear knob, roll it down/off the surround and then pull surround off over the gear knob. :y

Dead cheap and easy off ebay genuine leather.

personally used these a couple of times, they're still going strong after 7 years, and they'll do you them in any colour. Just consider something other than black, I went cream in a cream interior, and it worked rather well. You could choose a different coloured stitching, even, on standard black leather for a more subtle, classier look. :)
EDIT: ignore it being 94-99 only - they'll do anything, and probably have FL pattern on file... unless anyone can confirm PFL will fit on FL anyway?

As above, just contact them and they will make you whatever you want, even FL. Obviously you have to go wherever you want/prefer, but can personally recommend the ones in the link I sent

Your 'these will do' are what I bought. Plain black with back stitching because I hate gaudy interiors.
The handbrake gaiter is easy, stick it in place with trimmer's contact adhesive and refit.
The gearlever gaiter is a bit harder as I suspect they use the same one for both autos and manuals. It needed a bit of trimming at the corners, and the seams thinning down before sticking to the plastic housing. The tool of choice for this is a single-edge razor blade that is used in scrapers.
Both gaiters use a cabletie to close the open end; the brake one is a bit more successful as it isn't visible. The gear one needs to be smaller, or I might experiment with some wire.
This is a good value project, £12 tidied up a very scruffy area of my car.
