The mech on the lads corsa has seized up solid >:(
Motor smooth and quite with no load.
Can the mech be dismantled or is it a sealed unit ??
There is 1 circlips on top of each vertical spindle but that's all I can see ??
TIA :)

Last time I dealt with one of these, it broke the mechanism.

Tell me about it >:(
I tend to fix things with Percy my 3 pound lump hammer :-X ;D

The spindle had seized/rusted in the casing on the offside wiper. He put the wiper on one morning to hear a bang. I took a look and the casing for the mech on the offside had sheered/snapped clean off. Which in my mind either means that motor has a lot of torque (possibly more than the engine! ::)) or the casing is weak/badly designed.

Casing is okay at the moment
My lad is outside carefully tapping it with the hammer so maybe not for long ::)

Remove circlip and add some penetrant, heat gently if required and tap the spindle out.
Clean up and grease well, replace the small rubber O ring (I seem to recall these are the same as V6 breather O rings) and re-assemble.
