My 3.2V6 is suffering a power loss problem.
Regardless of whether the engine is hot or cold, it's absolutely rubbish off the mark. It feels more like an asthmatic 2.5.
When you hit around the 4,000 rpm mark, there is a sudden, very noticeable, increase in power, the engine will then pull like a rocket up to the redline.
The first thing that went through my head was a multiram problem.
Both multirams are plugged in, and the vacuum pipes are routed correctly. If you pull the vac pipe off the rear multiram, after having the engine running, there is a good hiss, which indicates the vacuum tank is working?
Unfortunately I can't do actuator tests, because I don't have any equipment at the mo to do them.
The only things I can think MIGHT be making a difference (advice on this please) -
1) The servo to plenum main vacuum pipe is from a 3.0, not a 3.2. Therefore it has two vacuum outlets. One vac pipe is going to the vac tank, and the other to the heater system. The correct configuration on a 3.2 should really only be one outlet on the servo pipe, and both the vac tank feed and heater system connected via a t-piece. But essentially the same is achieved?
2) The fuel tank purge valve is electronically connected, but at present, due to the connection on the purge valve being broken, the pipe from the tank is going straight into the plenum, so essentially it's behaving like it's always open. I'm not sure what difference this would make, but I'd like advice please.
I do intent to rectify both of the above ASAP - they were just niggles during the rebuild.
Otherwise -
- Compression fine
- Timing spot on
- Plugs etc new
- No fault codes, other than for the secondary lambdas..

To rule out 2, undo your filler cap a bit. Not all the way, but enough to break the seal. Ideally with less than 1/2 a tank, 1/4 is better. Then drive it, carefully.
EDIT
You could also try blanking off that pipe at the plenum whilst the filler cap is undone.
Another thought, what cams are you using? I presume this has just started and it's been ok previously?

Factory standard 3.2 cams.
No codes.
It's always been like it since rebuild but lately seems to bog down a tad when cold
I did stupidly run out of fuel last week. I will change the filter in case any muck has got in. I wouldn't have thought so though, it's a power house at high revs!!

I would try leaving the canister purge vent open to atmosphere and just block the inlet to the plenum. I can't believe it would make much odds, but sucking the tank down all the time might be a problem or, if air can get into the tank, you have created an induction air leak.
Sounds like a multiram issue, TBH.

Can you not test the actuators but revving it to the appropriate point and seeing if they move? Easy on my 2.5, I imagine on DBW you need 2 people?

Don't suppose the canister purge valve and rear multiram solenoid connections have got swapped? Or one of them swapped with the temperature sender? Wouldn't be the first time.

Almost certainly multi ram related. You need an assistant to rev the engine while you watch them move. Check front one isn't catching on associated radiator gubbins. And that the inlet bagpipes are seated correctly on their peg.
