When I was in the market for a new company car in about 96/97, I was disappointed to hear that Vauxhall had replaced the 2.5TD with the 2.2TD. I think I'm right that the 2.5TD was from BMW - is that right ? If so, is it the excellent combination that it sounds: BMW performance & build quality in a well priced Omega
-
They 2.5TD was dropped in 2000, not 96/97?
The 2.5 is a 6 pot, it was detuned for Vx by BMW, so needs chipping to full spec. If auto would need box upgrading first, as standard box cannot take full power.
Most will be battered by now though :(

Time plays with one's memory ! Thanks

Its not a bad lump for its time, but like many BMW engines of the era, tends to give up spectacularly if not loved
-
Mine still pulls like a train, but is on only 125k :y

204380 miles on my 2001 manual Elite and its still going well, but you must care for them!
-
That's pretty good going - would that be a record for members cars ?
-
Possibly a record, yes. Ok, a totally different engine, but mine's on 178k, though there's a fair few about that mileage, many on here haven't even come close to 100k yet.

I have a 223k one, and a 100038 mile one.

I thought mine (2003) was low at 103k. So what's the lowest mileage of all member's Omegas then ?
