I've got a bit of an in usual question for you chaps, I kindly offer to tow a guy with a Mercedes vito last night as he was broken down in the middle of nowhere, anyway to cut a long sort short the idiot managed to rip my rear towing eye clean off on my omega estate, my question is weither the towing eye is part of the rear crash bar? What do you guys think would be the best way to repair it?
any replies would be a great help

It is, or rather, was welded to the chassis... He owes you. Alot. :'(

That would take some doing. I would have thought your car would have come to a stop before that happened. It must have been a very sudden jolt.

I was not best impressed at the time, I'm pretty sure he tried to turn left when I wasent turning if I'm honest... He also managed to turn my bar into a banana...

So much for trying to help - I lost a deposit on a rental van because I let some bloke jump start his car from it & when he closed the bonnet he broke it

Vito GVW probably 2.5 tonnes plus, bar swl probably 2 tonnes or less ;)
But I know what you mean... Had it several times, normally when people turn. I keep a very close eye in the mirrors and the speed to under 20 unless I know the person in the casualty vehicle!
Anyway, as Al says, should be welded to the chassis... You will probably see a very shiny bit under there at the moment

Or a hole...
