Just a couple of questions just to reassure me please, ive disconnected the sounder and taped up the connector. I take it i can discard the actual sounder unit now but must leave the horn in place.
The sounder made no noise at all when disconnected,is that strange?
thanksfor any guidance :y

Just means it's batteries were dead, it can go in the bin now :y

Thanks Tunnie, what is the horn for on the same bracket as the power sounder?

You've disconnected the power, not the sounder. ::)
-
so the horn bit is part of the sounder?
-
The metal horn is the main sounder for the alarm system.
The black plastic power sounder was added to facelift cars to get a better Thatcham rating. Its main purpose is to make a racket if the battery is disconnected.
