Title: Got this Corsa for £195
Post by: powerslinky on 28 June 2015, 19:55:27
Hi all
think I may have picked up a bargain '03 plate 1.2 SXi Corsa here for the princely sum of £195

Still MOT'd until end of Sept.  Has been put in for a new MOT  last week   but failed on:

Headlamps insecure  (incorrect fixings  . . now fixed)         Headlamp aim  incorrect,

Both drop link rubbers perished & track rod end rubbers perished . . . so not too bad at all :y :y

As SWMBO will be using it gonna fit new drop links , track rod ens & bottom swivels  ;) ;)

Seats are very uncomfortable though as all SXi seats seem to be when aged a bit  with the metal bolster bar sticking through the foam:'( :'(

Any advice on this advisory though : Plastic sill covers fitted    ???   but they are standard to the car ??

Also advise rear coil springs are rusty  . . . .but look well good to me   . .all nice shiny black paint with the VX 2 letter code in white

All in all  it seems a nice little bargain  , very nippy & really good on fuel . It covered 180 miles on £20 coming back from Bath to Southend :y :y

Some pictures will appear below  shortly  courtesy of The Alarming Man

The sill cover advisory is the MoT man going "the sills might be made of rust, spit and hope, I have no idea as I'm not allowed to remove the covers to see". Nothing to worry about.

Same car as my daughter bought earlier this year , it needed 2 rear springs 2 front shocks and top mounts and wishbones plus a damn good service  ::) Rear springs are a common failure . They seem to take some abuse from folk that no nothing about servicing  ::)

Yours seems a bargain at that price though  :y

I do love how Opel/Vauxhall moved the battery into the most water-resistent place *cough* just to fit that bloody great big engine in the bay.  ;D

Oi !   Varche . . . you pickin holes in my nice little motor ;D ;D ;D ;D

Alloys have been "DIY" painted & laquered in previous ownership . . . only a fair job I'm afraid :( :(

But no serious kerbing ,only a couple of minor marks .

That will soon change when SWMBO strats ramming the kerbs though ;D ;D

Another good point  . . .  can't believe how easily I fit in this little car  . .

There seems to be loads of room in it  . . . even for  ME  ! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
