I set about the lager brew that i promised Al for saving my bacon a few weeks back. Researched a nice indian lager recipe, got the supplies i needed and had a very sucessful brew achieving a 93.7% efficency in the mash! (For non brewers thats not bad going) lost more than i wanted in the boil, cooled it down, split into two fermentation vessels and pitched the yeast.
Set the temp of the new fermentation fridge to 12c went back to my vessels and one was empty. Seems a seal failed when my back was turned! Grrr so i shall pinch this mini batch and turn in to a light IPA Then i shall have to start again! ::)

I hate it when that happens. :(
Has it made much of a mess?
Haven't got round to throwing away my failed brew from 18 months ago yet. Luckily it hasn't been that hot this summer, or some of the bottles would have made a bid for freedom from within my garage, I'm sure. It tastes ok, it's just that it's a brave man who opens a bottle. :-X

Thankfully it leaked outside before I could get it in to the FF.
But I was especially peeved after the efficiency I managed, lets hope I can do that again :D

Might find a cure for some Nasty infections at this rate then? Or perhaps the opposite and create a monster ;D

A cure? I had a dentist mate take a look at it under a microscope at work, and he concluded quite the opposite. Lots of something in it, but stone dead, fortunately. ::)
I should say, this was brewed as a joint effort with a couple of other guys, the wort transported before being fermented, and not in my equipment. ;)

Ah. Shame. But at least it was checked for the next "penicillin" ....well ya never know. :y ;D

Well I had another bash last night (last chance before the missus came home) and I got an even higher efficency, 95.5%! :D :D
Double checked all the seals and taps first :-[
It's sat in the fridge cooling before I pitch the lager yeast and let the beasties do their magic :y

Sounds promising ;)
