Hi all,
After the problems with batteries, the knackered battery finished up on the 2,6. Today, I have put a new battery on it, but now the drivers door won't activate on the fob. Other doors do. All was working prior to fitting the new battery.
Does the drivers door motor have a separate fuse. Can fitting a new battery upset something that needs resetting, or is it total coincidence, and the door motor is fubared.
Opinions welcome, please.
I have searched the forum, but did not see a result. :y

Cant see that the battery change would upset only that door. Since you asked for opinions heres mine: its a coincidense and you need a new drivers door central locking motor:)

Have you done the reset procedure ?? Sit in car, doors closed, ignition on, press "lock" then "unlock" ... switch off, remove key and retry .. all doors should now work off the fob. ... :)
Page 53 of my handbook .. :)

Thankyou Mr Entwood :y
I'll try that in the morning. I knew windows and sunroof sometimes need resetting, which is what I found on my search, but nothing relating to the doors. However, I suspect something is out there, apart from the manual page you pointed me to. Just a case of reading every post :(
Edit*.....Aha...they call it synchronizing :y

If you don't have a copy of the manual handy ..

Thanks Mr Entwood....I found that buried deep in FAQ's. Appreciate the help.
Andy/Monza.....it looks like you could be right. After trying the reset....we have now gone to the six click syndrome to lock it. I had this happen on the 2.5, but on the sixth click, the drivers door locked.
However with this one (2.6) the drivers door remains unlocked.
More repairs....... :-\
