Title: Scrapping a car requiring a VIC...
Post by: 05omegav6 on 26 July 2015, 22:21:59
Does it need the VIC done before it can be scrapped, or can it simply be binned :-\

How much of the shell is required for a destruction certificate to be issued? Would the chassis plates suffice or does it need to resemble a car?

When I scrapped our Red estate I did it wrong, but no problem, the guy took it and I crossed out the pages in the log book, wrote scrapped on each page and sent it to the DVLA, I got a confirmation letter that it had been scrapped............ :y

Ok. Basically considering retaining as much of the front and rear structure as is practical for use as repair assemblies ;)

I've no idea what the real rules are but as long as you don't try and keep anything with the VIN on it, I guess..
