Morning and greetings from a wet campsite!
Dragged the pikey wagon down yesterday and was very impressed. Admittedly it was mostly motorway/dual carriageway but averaged 18.5mpg on the journey, cruising at around 58 mph over undulating terrain!
Biggest result is that i've got a 3g signal on the site so i can still surf a little! ::) ::) :y :y

Hope you're managing to have a good time but my sympathy goes out to anyone trying to take a holiday in the UK these days. We just don't get proper summers anymore. :'( Global warming......my a*se!! :-?

I went to Vesta @ Newport last week for only 2 pallets. Vesta must've wanted 'em badly. Told a return trip in an artic is £600 plus the rate on the Red Funnel Ferry. Was sailing back to Southampton within 2 hrs.
Glad i'm paid hourly!!!!!!! :D

When I had the money and was doing my ppl one of the navigation training routes i had to do was to the Isle of Wight. I drove my instructor mad because we were supposed to be flying on times, not landmarks but I knew the area so well that even when he took the chart away I could still tell him exactly where we were! ::) :y

I must confess that he wasn't too happy when he suggested we flew to Filton next time and I said ok, that's the one with motorway on 3 sides!
Suffice to say, he was struggling to work out another route but I had to stop flying. >:( :'( :'(

Once did a nav exercise up to Swindon and back in a rather underpowered motor glider (think VW beetle engine) with a strong headwind which was similar.
"Where are we now?"
"Umm. There's Membury, There's Didcot, there's the M4, There's Swindon"
...

...
"Do you still know where we are?"
" ::)"
Things happened a lot quicker on the way back but because I'd spent about an hour and a half studying landmarks on the outward leg it was hardly challenging!
