Title: Clock screen display dim - were they all dim?
Post by: terry paget on 01 August 2015, 21:06:50
Car is a 2000 PFL Omega 2.5 petrol manual CDX estate. The data display screen  to the left of the instrument panel, displaying time, outside temperature  and numerous other things, uses an unusual light font. All pixels are working, and I have changed all 3 green bases 2w bulbs that illuminate it. However it is still dim, and not legible on a sunny day. It is fine by night. Is this normal? On all the other Omegas I have owned a bolder typeface was used, and the screen was legible at all times. Picture follows.

Dimmer control only affects intensity when side lights are on. When lights are on dimmer dims all instrument displays, inc. speedo, climate control panel and information panel. Info panel is clear and legible when lights are on, but not so bright in daylight.
