Hi guys
I don't use the sat nav very much , but I usually just leave the sat nav disc in place . On the silver 3.2 elite , the sat nav disc keeps ejecting itself about a minute after starting the car . Ok while HU is switched off , but if radio or CD are playing then this self ejection occurs.
Not a major problem . . .but any ideas please ? hopefully the HU is not about to become fubared ::) ::)
TIA Al :y

Guessing if its spitting the disk out, it doesn't like it, start of some read errors possibly.
Used to take my disk out, when not in use, which was most of the time, as found it was spinning a lot when not being used. :-\

Had similar with mine Al, when I first got this car about 20 months ago.Despite being genuine disk it would not like keeping it in place. :(
As Chris said, probably the start of a "reading error" which on mine ended up being a new laser.Been fine ever since although very rarely use it ,just nice that it works as designed . ;)

Hi Chris & Andrew . . . . yes remember now that Sat nav disc was in the glove box when I got the car. So probably been ongoing for a while this fault . Best to remove it & just insert when I need to use it & see what develops . when in operation mode it all works fine . Thanks for your input :y

No problem . :y
If my memory serves me right :D, think new laser was around £45 from place in Germany..Gerner.. think was the name and listed online.Just then need somebody with patience and electical skills to change it over ;) if you want it restored to working condition.
In truth...good old TomTom is far better ;D

If its an original disc, and not badly scratched, the laser is toast.
