Title: Tyre wear
Post by: Kate on 17 August 2015, 21:35:45
Hi all.

My front tyres are wearing really badly along the inner edge. It's so bad that I think it might ruin the tyres completely if I don't get it sorted.

Is this due to wheel balancing or tracking or something like that?

Where should I get this fixed? Is it expensive?

I found this picture on the Internet which shows a tyre with the same problem.

TIA.

IT will be tracking or complete wheel alignment which isnt cheap....why not have the tracking checked first as not very expensive....no doubt some one will come along and say thats no good without complete alignment check,,,mine were wearing similar to that and tracking sorted it..

If yours is anywhere near that, that's illegal, worth posting a photo of your tyres exactly.

Needs a full get session, personally I use WIM, it's worth the drive.

I would take it to Micheldever tyres, if I were you. Not too far from Basingrad (just up the A303), and they understand Omega suspension and only charge for the adjustments they actually have to make.

Worth checking the condition of the bushes and changing any that are worn first, though.

I must be lucky because I don't recall owning a car where the tyres wear unevenly.

Shoulder wear is always camber, not tracking.
