Title: Is this the right Power Steering pump
Post by: Jan Suhr on 21 August 2015, 13:57:04
My PS pump is leaking and I'm about to replace it. I've seen here that there are two different models and since mine is an early 3.2L car I need to know if I buy the correct pump from the scrap yard.

Here is picture of how my pump looks, hard to see but you might get it.

And this is a one for a 2003 V6 3.2L that is available at the moment.

I think that they look different and that I might have the early model.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Jan

When i changed mine, the replacement had to be returned as the pulley did not fit as it had a different sized centre bore.

worth a check..

The difference is 2.6/3.2 pump is different to a 2.5/3.0L pump, pulleys aswell, its how the pipes fit. :y

Also are you sure its the pump and not the hose from the reservoir,to the pump, as that's only held on with jubilee clips, if it is the pump seals that are leaking (pulley) then somebody has used, dex4 or above,so whole system might need flushing thro, before new pump is fitted.
