I guess location of extra gauges all depends on car being facelift or pre-facelift, that said, if you look in the 'chav me clit' section of Hellfrauds I'm sure i've seen the instrument pods that mount on the A pillar.

If it were a left hooker, I would have suggested dumping the MID and fitting a cluster from the Catera as they have both... but guess it's a UK car... could modify the centre vents into a pod ;)

Was answering MGs question... but as the ABS ecu is what drives the speedo, that's another puzzle solved :y

ergo, disconnected. ..surely?

You'll find that people here are generally quite smart*.  So if you want less intelligent replies ::) ;D

*With the exception of that Mr DTM fella, he's not smart....oh nooooo, not all  ::)

Yeah it's a facelift model want something oe looking as possible don't want gauges on pillars etc in the vent could be an option though

Centre air vents, as you say, are probably your best and only option. You could remove the ashtray but it's not that deep so might struggle to fit gauges and is far too low to be any use unless you are the height of a Meerkat!

The problem will be finding moulds to fit the vents, would have to be custom made i guess.  Plus you'll lose the effect of the vents.  Might be easier to fit on top of the dash but then it might encroach on line of sight and become n mot issue.

Arguably the centre vents are redundant... besides, as dash trim goes, it's a doddle to remove and therefore lends itself to experimenting with... helps with routing the wiring too ;)

Don't like them on dash etc but want to keep an eye on oil temp and pressure when running near 500bhp :o

i am guessing you must have updated all the running gear too.  Not sure the OE could handle that many ponies :-\

wasnt there a german project along similar lines and he had an issue with the diff overheating?

Pretty much everything is uprated nice lsd etc looking into an oil cooler for the gearbox and rear diff

It isn't cooler oil that will prevent the box or diff going bang, cooler oil just stays in scope, and viscosity thus doing its job, if you are using a omega box they can handle about 300hp,the diffs about the same its torque that kills gearboxes, and you will probably run out of petrol before the diff or gearbox overheats, unless your going for more than 10 laps at race speeds.

Depends what I am doing with car I suppose mostly it will be a toy for drag and drift gonna put gauges in the heater vents got a full elite car sitting so will rob the parts from that before I scrap it

I would lose or relocate the MID, plenty of room left then for some extra gauges where they should be.
