Just ordered a Lemforder idler arm from Jason. £48.52 delivered. Very helpful as always. :y

Just ordered some shocks from AGP as well, not Meyle, had to be others but again they were very helpful and gave me a great price on some alternatives  :y

He'll be bloody sick of talking to OOFers - Ive ordered about twenty items from him... I spent more time on the phone to J than I do with my missus. Or those numbers in the back of Razzle.

Actually forgotten their name  ;D

They don't list them on their website, only just started stocking them recently. But he said they were slightly better than Meyle quality wise, gave the OOF discount and next day delivery  :y

Meyle would have been around 3 weeks, none in the country  :(

Shackeng - report back on the idler, as recently lemforder ones haven't lasted too well :( (unless there are a load of fakes around, which isn't beyond the realms of possibility)

But Jaime, it will outlast me, so I doubt if my feedback will be of much use. ::) :y
Incidentally, Jason tells me he has some new springs which look promising, and hopes to post info on OOF.

LOL, that made me chuckle ;D

Sadly, they have been known to fail within months.  I certainly hope you have more than a few months ;)

I bought a Lemforder Idler (admittedly from ECP).

It came in a Lemforder Box, but had no markings on the actual arm.  Seemed to be very stiff on install..... Lasted all of 6 months, and it was completely shot.  Probably should have been changed within 4 months tbh.  :-\

I don't trust ECP, seen similar many times....... :y

Many would argue against, but I've got two spare idlers taken from scrap cars (and will keep getting them). Both genuine GM, and I know how many miles they have done. In theory, both have over 30k miles left in them, and they were freebies with other car bits bought at the time.  :)

A good genuine second hand part is going to be better than a pattern  :y

That's my logic  :y I buy genuine new GM when I can. If pattern, then recommended tried and tested only. And always happy to fit used, but good genuine GM as the best cost vs. longevity solution.  :)

The good thing with the Idler Arm is that on a scrap car, you can really get a good idea of how much life is left in it.  The access is superb to get a pry bar in and give it some welly.

I'd certainly prefer a used GM part to the shite that is out there, new.
