Has anyone had anything to do with Tartarini LPG systems. Engine runs OK on gas at tick over and it will rev on gas, but power is down under load, don't know service history of this V8 engine but could old plugs do this :-\. Not my vehicle, well not yet :y Any ideas
-
Need to get it hookedup to a laptop and see what settings are like.
-
Assuming fine on petrol, look for lpg restrictions, such as lpg filters being blocked.
Obviously if its always been like it, then could be a shit install. If you can get the software, worth a look for errors, although many can be deduced from petrol ecu live data

My 2.5 estate has one and it is certainly less powerful on LPG and slightly hesitant with rapid throttle application. I've just left it and switch to petrol if I need to drive enthusiastically.

Its been fitted badly, or unsuitable components used.

Yes I sure it has - I've just not had time to look at why, another one of those jobs!

Don't drive that on gas until it's sorted!! Driving on lpg when it's not right can cause big issues :y

Thanks James, I've been using it like it for a couple of months now :-(
What kind of issues?

Single biggest issue is if it runs lean at any point. Pistons tend to break up in short order....

Hopefully you'll get an EML before that happens, but really does need checking over.

This, along with valve damage. Lpg is a dry, hot burning fuel, it mustn't run lean, especially at higher revs or over a period of time..

Thank you both - will have to get someone more experienced to take a look for me.

I ran tartarini system for 60k of miles on one of my senators, then transferred it to the gsi, took both of them around tracks at silverstone/castle combe marham etc,
its a damned good system but does need regular service, the filters need changing every 30k,the evaporator can sometime blow a small hole in the diaphram, leading to a weak mixture,
thats the only problem i had in over 100k between both cars? sold it running perfectly to Wayne who put another 57k on it before crunching the car :'(
