HI all,
Got home yesterday evening and when I went back to the car an hour or so after getting home I noticed a large wet area from underneath the car. Got down to have a look and there was the last remnants of coolant dripping from the underside at the very rear of the engine. It was too late to look any further so have got her up on ramps for a closer this morning. Completely topped up the coolant and left her running on the ramps to reach temp and after a while the dripping started again which soon turned to a steady trickle.
I got down under the car and its not coming from above but instead its coming from what looks like a breather pipe that's pointing down.
I did manage to get underneath and get a photo but it was bloody difficult due to lack of space but it does show the pipe in question.

As for the location of the pipe. As shown its hard up against the right hand side of the passenger footwell. It is quite rigid and doesnt want to be moved so Im assuming it hasnt come away from anything as it wont move to be replaced?
Got work tomorrow and need to get this sorted today so any advice seriously welcome. :)
Cheers

Check your HBV. You sure it`s coolant and not AC condensate?

Hi Rob, cheers for the reply.
Did consider if it was the starship enterprise failed. Could this be due to case cracking or the actual HBV failed?
-
HBV failure. See my edit above^^^^

Just a thought, if I need to replace the HBV I wont get one today so if I run her with the heater on will this stop the leak until I can replace the HBV tomorrow evening after work?
Edit: Deffo coolant as I was topping it up as it was leaking out Rob. Basically it was going in one end and out of the other.

Try with heater on and then off

If it's actually coming out of that pipe, it's not the HBV. If it's clear water, it's air con condensate, otherwise, I reckon it's probably the heater matrix. :-\

Definitely not the air con Kevin. Did wonder about the heater matrix but the carpets are all dry (I know thats not a definite symptom but it can happen) If it is the heater matrix then it'll be bye bye miggy :(

Think its the heater matrix. Have had it running for an hour on ramps and there's coolant running into the carpet of the foot well. Only a little trickle but thats that I reckon. Changing the matrix is a major major job isnt it?

As above ^.
Not so bad if you cut then repair the section of centre console shown, rather than stripping out the whole lot.
