Sorry to hear :(
I had eventful w/e - Friday, found out the MV6 is poorly, Sat, went and visited a member here who has an unhealthy number of Omegas, and Sunday, looked at Alex W's car, followed by Tunnie's new estate. Then took Tunnie's 2.2 for a 'test' :-[

Truely sorry to hear about your mother's stroke, it is a life-changing event which will affect the entire family. I pray for a full recovery for your mother. Seeing you by her bedside will help her alot in restoring brain function but your help will come into its own when she is dis-charged form hospital.
Here's a link that may or may not help in giving some advice:

Best wishes! Hope your mum makes a good recovery!

Best wishes to your Mum ... if she's at the Solihull Stroke Unit she is in very good hands ... My mother was treated by them and they couldn't do enough for her.. they also taught my family a lot about the "magic hour" and how to recognise the "mini-strokes" that often precede the bigger ones.
It's not easy .. but stay positive ... with support and help the recovery rate is extremely high, although it is slow progress.
Take care of yourself as well .. if you get ill through doing too much you will be no help to your mum.
Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family :y :y :y

Sorry, just caught up with this thread Psychnurse!
How terrible, and I wish your mum a speedy full recovery, along with a better time for you!
If it is any consolation at all, my Dad had three strokes, the final one major, which the doctors stated should have killed him. That was 23 years ago, and he gets around at 82 with full faculties in place! So there must be a very good chance with just one stroke that your Mum will be ok in due course. :y :y :y
All the very best, I will pray for you both.
