I've been up on the roof recently cleaning the moss off of the concrete tiles. In quite a few places the original coloured coating has gone which in the photo shows as the lighter areas, mostly along the ridge and thereabouts. Originally the roof would have been a terracotta colour, which still shows on the odd tile.
Does it matter that some of the tiles are now bare concrete? There are coloured roof coating paints available which are quite expensive, but of course much cheaper than a new roof! ::) The other thought I had was to spray it over with something like Thompsons Water Seal which would be a lot cheaper again! :-\

Any thoughts please? :) TIA! :y

The concrete colouring is only a dye and so fades in the sun.
No issue as concrete tiles are only the weather proofing, its the felt/membrane that is the waterproofing. :y

You have missed half of them ;D

The main reason for roof tiles breaking/cracking, is some fat bastard climbing on the roof to clean them.

No fat bastards allowed on my roof for that very reason! ;) ::)
I've so far filled up about 3/4 of a large wheely bin with dry moss and it's heavy! ::) So that's a lot of weight I'm relieving my roof of, especially when wet! :y
Thanks for the advice, sarcasm and the song. :y

Not quite Mark membrane will rot if water leaks onto it and all its there for is to keep inside dry while roof is fitted and it will also help with drafts.
heres some info tigger to have a read of

There is no need to worry as long as the tile felt is okay underneath the tiles the colour will go but the tile is still doing its job and as for the tile painting pikeys DON'T get it done it will be back to this before you know it and the pikeys would have your cash :( it doesn't as they say improve the insulation absolute poppycock :y

It's not just the dodgy 'Home Improvement' companies that are making money, but the manufacturers of roof coating paints as it's very expensive stuff! :o
