Title: Fitting 314mm calipers
Post by: Sir Sideways on 04 November 2015, 13:14:53
Has anyone fitted a set of 314mm calipers? are they a straight bolt on fit or would I need adapters? if so where could I get some?

Many Thanks

Jim

Give us a clue... ::)

What calipers?
Where from?
Front or rear?

Assuming the bolt spacing is the same, 85mm iirc, then they will probably bolt on... but Vec C discs are about 13mm shallower than Omega ones, 45.2 mm vs 58.3 mm which gives all sorts of issues such as wheel offset and hub offset... you could find the caliper fit fine, but the discs won't, or that all fits well but the wheels then foul the caliper when you spin them... might also struggle to fit 16" wheels...

If you can get the parts cheaply enough, then try it and report back :y

I have calipers, pads + disks sat in garage waiting. Its just getting round to having a look. Thought id just ask the question if it had been done before.

Thanks for the info harris, it may come in useful

Something in the back of my puny brain is telling me the Discs and Callipers will be fine.  The Calliper Carrier will need modifying as the bolt holes do not line up.  I also think you need to trim a small section off the splash-guard.

Possibly thinking Monaro VXR rears, as all the above apply...
