Title: Front self levelling sensor
Post by: Ash3383 on 18 November 2015, 22:11:19
Was changing the wishbones on my 00 CDX omega and noticed I've a problem with my headlamp levelling sensor. The wee plastic arm connected to the metal arm that plugs into the sensor is missing. Can you buy the wee arm or do I need to purchase the entire unit?

Thanks in advance

I bought the entire unit (223 EUR) to my 2001 model. I never understood how the plastic arm is clamped to the sensor in the original one. There was just a rubber ring which held the arm in the sensor. The new model seemed to be mechanically much better. Only problem was that also the connector type was changed in that new one so I had to cut the old wires and solder the new wires to them.  But it's working now properly.

You may get just the arm (though not sure Vx will sell you it, most likely from a breaker) however, if you're off down the breaker route, might as well get the whole assembly. As said above, they're not held in particularly well, have a habit of popping out.  :)

Get a known good unit from a scrapyard.

Thank you all for the help. After weeks of searching, no joy on getting sensor for omega, but have been told vectra b is the same sensor, so have bought one today and hopefully it will work for me....

This could be worth checking, as others have same problem..

I've got a single sheet of A5 paper round here somewhere, with a few lines of text, but mainly blank. It's titled 'Things RobG Doesn't Know About Omegas'  :y

There's a footnote disclaimer 'please note: the above list isn't worth knowing'  :)
