Title: Crank sensor
Post by: martin341 on 30 November 2015, 17:08:46
So as the symptoms are starting to occure thought its time to too the crank sensor change...until i got under there to check which one it is. Some egghead apparentli has done it once before with a AFTERMARKET sensor :'( >:(  So how the hell to i find out now what was installed there from the factory? Or should i just bite the bullet and just pick one? The car in question is my 3L v6 year 2000, April with vin: W0L0VBF35Y1139368 if that helps ::) Maybe AndyC or RobG or someone can work their magic :D

A pic of what is installed at the moment:

You need to follow the wiring from the sensor up to where it plugs into the wiring loom, and examine the plug. This will give a better idea of which sensor you need. They all look very similar at the engine end.

The advice for a genuine GM sensor is because the durability of pattern ones can be variable and in the UK the cost saving isn't enough to justify. That may be different where you are.

With your model year I`d hazard a guess at 'Bosch' 90540743
