It's a shame really. He is without doubt one of the best managers the football world has ever seen. I rate him as highly as Alex Ferguson, with the advantage that Jose had a basic grasp of the English language. :)

terribly sorry old boy, I am a little tired

I don't understand the world of football so maybe someone can enlighten me:
Players only practice two hours a day? (If so I would have them doing far more than that)
Players that slack (lets face it we all feel demotivated from time to time) ought to be sanctioned. Not just not playing them but ultimately sacking them or paying on results. If you cannot then that is a sign of a poor contract.
Poor team performance ultimately down to the manager? Probably. So how come he has been so successful all these years and now fallen out of grace? Players not motivated, don't work well as a team?

Quite right, Matt, no where near as interesting as cycling or rugby.

Apparently the special (needs) one, will get at least £10 million as a payoff. My heart bleeds for the poor fella. ::)

His big ego and poor man management has got him where he is in losing the dressing room and getting his P45. He has also made himself much less employable as he has shown he is a managerial liability when he is not winning. Your would have to be a brave club if you weren't a winning one at the time.
Calling out the medics was stupid, stupid, stupid, where it sent the message to the players that trying to save a lost cause match is more important than a player's health and well being. Any good man manger would have realised that he had crossed a red line and apologised to the players and medical staff with a public statement along the lines: "In the heat of the moment due to my football and Chelsea passion I made a bad call over the medical staff attending an injured player. Of course the player's well being is more important and I won't make that mistake again". When you make a mistake an apology makes you look bigger not smaller and keeps people onboard. Arrogant people with big egos are IME incapable of doing this.
This was then compounded by not following one of the cardinal rules in management: "Praise in public and tell-off in private" on numerous occasions. He end up where it was obvious it was going to over player loyalty and paid IMO the deserved price.
