Title: Winter Tyre Thread
Post by: Broomies Mate on 18 December 2015, 00:25:18
I was just wondering, with this typically terrible Winter weather we are having, how is everyone getting on with their Winter Tyres?  ;D

As a side note, according to my Thermometer, it's 12C here now.  IT'S THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!

Im on all qeather tyres on my bike. Didnt help at all when I found the local council had gritted both sides of the main road, but not the crossovers.

If my svelte 17.5 stone hitting the ground didnt wake the neighbours... my shouting "HEAVENS, DAMN AND BLAST"* certainly will have.

But also tyre designs with real tread, a screaming 37bhp from your asthmatic A-series and tyres so narrow they're basically trolley wheels.. ;)

I had no idea that the arthritic 'A' series lump had so much grunt. ;) ;D

I'll have you know my old Allegro 1100S had 45 very arthritic horses. When it was new. In 1978.

You could have had 76 mighty horses if you had a 1275 Mini Cooper S..

Which was quite substantial for something that weighed about 700 KG. :y

My race 1293 Cooper S ran well in excess of 100bhp, and certainly weighed less than 700kg ;)

Stepdad has a Cooper S running in excess of 110bhp. Also idles like a total bastard, understandably. He gave MrsGK a run up the road in it once and she was grinning for weeks. :D

The  anaemic 1275 GT was never going to replace the Cooper S. :-\

Here's one. (http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201511108590046?search-target=usedcars&postcode=DT7%203NB&model=mini&make=austin&page=1&onesearchad=used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew&radius=1501&sort=default&logcode=p)  Good fun if you want a little run-a-bout!  :y

Not really the 1275GT though, but the closest I could find.  ;)
