The glove box handle on my 98 estate snapped off and the door is currently shut (it opened once, but is now permanently closed)
I recall there being a guide, but not for can't get open - just for changing the handle.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?
Happy new new to the OOF and all OOFers

There will be some plastic bits left inside (at 9 and 3 o'clock) which you can, with some pushing / wiggling, get the lid open. Worst case scanario you can force it open, and will most likely only snap the 'pins' however, a glovebox must be one of the easiest components on an Omega to source, they're all identical, year, bodystyle, trim level. (Aside from colour, obviously, but you want the innards)
The only bit that's hard if you don't know about it is the hidden screws just behind the airbag cover, you need to pop the trim piece off the side of the passenger vent (with car door open), to access the airbag cover, lift, to reveal the remaining screws. Aside from that taking the lid apart when open is as easy as looking for all the visible screw heads and undoing them :)
Did it a few months back myself to replace a lock. :)

My handle has been off for some time but I can open the door with a thumb in the aperture, It is so easy that the replacement lock I purchased is still on the shelf.

......ah if only...
mine's welded shut with the mysterious Omega force. Won't budge.
I'll see if i can do it your way. Or break my thumbs... ;)

Sit in the passenger seat, press each knee against either end of the glovebox lid, then pop your finger/thumb in the hole to pop the latch... Knees away and it should open... Remove some stuff from glove box, and next time it should open using just a finger :y
