Title: OOF and Miggy acknowledgement
Post by: JueV6 on 17 July 2008, 07:06:29
Years ago when my dad 1st got  his MGB, he was driving down an A road when another MG flashed him, He thought ohh, speed trap or something similar, Nothing. a few days later, same again. He found out later that most of the old school drivers and MGCC members acknowedged each other in this way.

BertieCBX passed be yesterday and i didn't even know, Why can't we  have the same, I don't mean the "Funny Hand Shake" although there are a few that would enjoy that,

/me looks at scruntie ;D ;D ;D ;D

When i had the Alfa i used to find that a lot of other Alfa owners used to wave, very much like the MG wave.

i really ought to get a tax disk holder and window sticker

I remember when I got my old Type 2 camper ( now sadly gone) ... my ex too some persuading to even get in it -- then as we were driving along an oncoming VW flashed --- the ex demanded I stopped and let her out as she couldn't stand the embarrasment  :-[ silly cow moo

I'm the same... I check every rear window to look for the OOF sticker or the tax disk holder at the front! Not seen another OOfer on the road yet  :(

(well I think I may have seen one on the M6 toll - but it was going too fast to be sure)

A few years ago I had a Capri 2.8 Injection and over the 4 years I owned it dozens of other 2.8 owners flashed their lights and waved. Other Capris such as 1.6/2.0 etc never bothered. ::)

I think quite a few same make classic cars flash each other now, I know Ford 100/107 E drivers do. VW Beetle drivers always have done and I got a PT Cruiser last year, only had it 5 months, 23mpg tops  and slippy leather interior:( their drivers flash and or wave to each other. :)
