Title: OOPS! I am a fool.
Post by: STEMO on 15 January 2016, 11:21:20
Wifey says to me 'Clear all the history from my sat nav and delete the vehicle phonebook before Saturday'
'Ok'

So I puts the SD card in, goes through the menus...'Restore to factory condition'....that'll be the fella :y
Press button......'are you sure?' Yes. 'Are you really sure?' Yes. OK.

No screen at all, no maps, no phone numbers (which I now can't delete), no radio display, although the radio still works, not even a clock. All I've got is 'System not configured, please connect diag tool.'

Oh dear. Phones the salesman to tell him that there must be a built-in fault cause it can't be anything I've done ;D

'Ermmmmm........you don't mention it and I won't look'.
'Ok, see you Saturday. Bye'

Sounds like you need to copy the SD card from another like for like Nav.

No....the SD card is purely for tomtom, I've reset the whole system.

I'm not the first, plenty of others done it according to the internet. It's only a quick fix through the diag port, but Renault can worry about that.

Won't the SatNav need a code to unlock it....?

Is it as easy as just copying the software over from another SD card...?

Tom Toms are easy to replace the navigation software, Iv done it a few times with various different models of the portable type not the built in type...

The onboard system won't recognise the SD card, so no amount of fiddling with the card would get the system to boot.

Quiet, vandal. At least I only break stuff by pressing buttons.  :P

What's your count this week? An alternator, a solenoid and a window.
