Have Microsoft slowed down IE 11 so that you'll use Edge?
Taking about 20 secs to load a tab on Laptop & PC >:(

ok here :y

Windows 10?

yes windows 10

Have you got ABP installed. I notice that is killing IE11 currently.
-
Although that's more on IE startup, rather than going between pages.
Is your IE slow against OOF (which has no ads or 3rd party ad tracking technology enabled at present)?
-
What's ABP?

What's ABP?
my guess is AdBlockPro .. quite a decent free adblocking "extra" for firefox & chrome .... never seemed to work well with IE for me and does not work with Edge.
Now using AdGuard (paid for) which works very well in Edge and all the others .. so far .. :)

Probably a bit off topic, but I haven't felt the need to switch on my PC for ages.

No, I don't use it.

Should I have the above enabled - they are at the minute?

They will only really cause significant slowdowns when you initially start IE, although your stats look like they aren't really causing an issue.
Unless they are misbehaving - easily tested by disabling, see if it fixes it.
The primary reason for disabling Java (or flash etc) is for security purposes, due to a constant stream of vulnerabilities.
Are you suffering the same slow page load problem on OOF?

It's the initial load of IE and opening of a new tab that takes 20 secs+. on both the laptop & PC.
Once a tab is open, everything works fine.
Tried disabling Java, made no difference.
OOf works fine once opened.

OK, that sounds like a slow plugin somewhere (or a slow PC, but IIRC, one of yours is quite recent?)

Laptop is about 5/6 years old.
PC is a new Dell, about 4/5 months old.
Strange it's happening on both machines......
It's only started happening in the last week or so.

Agreed, try disabling all plugins and see if improves - in Win 8.1,10 you can do this by opening Run dialog, type (include quotes!) "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff and click OK. If improvement use plugin management to enable one at a time to find slow one.
(Note IE11 displays Load times and Nav times for plugins ;))
-
And IE is rubbish - But TB and I will never agree on this. ;D

Already tried that, makes no difference on either machine :(

I agree, it is a bit rubbish. Its just that its far better than the alternatives for most.

Problem solved, it appears the latest update to Trusteer has caused problems for Win 10 users.
Uninstalled it and everything works like greased lightening again :y

Ah, the poxy shitware that banks insist on? Never install it. If bank asks why, its because its buggy, unreliable, poorly tested shite.

They are all really poor, and do nothing (useful) to improve security.
