Woman and I are taking the 190 over to Germany, via Amsterdam - anyone stayed in or near the city somewhere reasonable with secure parking? :D
-
If I'd have gone to Amsterdam with a car I'd still be there, as I'd have never been in a fit state to drive away...... :D ;D
-
Did camping run there, stayed on the outskirts at Zeeburg near the water.
Very nice, but not very relevant with the parking ;D

Once stayed in a hotel in the centre of Amsterdam, right next to a very large car-park ......... seems it was the "done thing" to leave the hotel and wander around the carpark late at night ... some "interesting" sights to be observed, and perhaps some "temptations" to be avoided ..... :-[ :-[ :-[

I regularly drive to Amsterdam. I park in a secure car park at Sloterdijk train station, and then it's a 5 min train ride into the centre.
Cost is VERY good, iirc about 8 euro's a day....
-
In fact it may have been significantly less than that, I've not been for a year :y

8 Euros for the first 24 hours, then 1 euro per 24 hours thereafter :y
Also manned 24/7 and actually at the train station for a quick connection into the city, Schiphol, Rotterdam etc :y

ive done it loads of times & always stayed at a canal-side b&b . the b&b has always thrown in a parking pass. used to work in Enschede in the north so use to be there at least one w/end a month.( wife came across to meet me )

Funny, I was about to say that. I was in no fit state to drive for several days after I went there. ::)
It was my stag do, mind. :D

Just read the title, why would you want to go to Amsterdam to stay with a car, I know the Dutch are more liberal, have I missed something. :D
