Title: Heater matrix.
Post by: ted_one on 22 January 2016, 13:46:39
Is the heater matrix a standard part throughout the Omega range,or are they different for the later cars with climate control? :-\

If they're for the Omega then I am sure they'll fit, but searching the part number produces no results :-\

Just my own advise here as replaced Matrix on my old Elite.

Bought a Nissen brand from ECP and think it was sub £40. It fitted fine but didnt have the foam block for the end and when it was fitted didnt sit in the recess very tight .After further investigation it was clear that the foam was quite important as it in effect sealed the matrix in the heaters plastic cowl and stoped warm aie escaping and also cold air from outside just passing straight out into the footwell.

Might be completely off track but would of thought genuine GM matrix units would be a prefered choice and would come with all the correct bits..just my experience but Nissen didnt although packing with foam did fix the issues

The foam is, or at least should be in the box for attaching prior to fitting (saves transit damage)... Mine certainly was, fitted 70K miles ago and no issues since ;)

Wouldn't have recommended it if I wasn't happy with it...

I must of been unlucky when I bought mine, but as I wasnt aware it needed the foam when I opened the box I didnt complained to ECP as needed it as existing removedand due to major coolant all foam/etc was soaking  :(

Matrix was fine though and fitted as explained so I agree parts are fine just be aware you need the foam  :y

I had the same problem from ecp the matrix did come with a foam strip but on the n/s of the matrix had no rubber blanking piece so the heater box would no longer be sealed like with the o.e. one and the cut outs in the o.e.one didn't match the replacement matrix so it couldn't be used I just ended up going to Vauxhall and getting a genuine one
