Title: funny noise

turned my dti Elite off this morning after the school run only to hear a jet engine under the front of the car  :-\ ?????? are they fitted with some sort of aux heater as temp was around 0 deg and i thought to myself oh this warms up quick,only had the car about a week or so and keep finding little suprises.. lol  :y

There's a nice jet engine hum noise after a long, hot run, yes. Be just the fan. But I do happen to like the noise, sad though that sounds is  :y

DTIs do have a Webasto heater under the offside front wing. Not sure it should run after shutdown, mind. Maybe the fan runs on a little as it cools. :-\

Ah yes, didn't spot it's the DTi. OP worth putting in what your car is/engine/spec etc under your name, otherwise you'll find you're frequently having to explain to people every time you ask for advice.  :)

If it's anything like my V6, the fans stay on for 30 seconds after shutdown just to help bring the temp down a little more, when hot.  :)

yes its a webasto heater checked under the wing and its there and working  :y
