Title: Has anyone blown a hole in this before?

Lifted up the bonnet this morning and found a hole in this pipe

Now I'm not even sure what system this is but it looks like the pipes gotten hot and melted the rubber which is worrying, as most probably know this is where I rear ended someone but the item itself doesn't look damaged? Can anything else have a knock on effect?

Found out its part of the secondary air pump which can be unplugged, but is it goin to cause a problem with a hole in the pipe?

I've had that hose fail on mine - led me to junk the whole secondary air system.

Once you remove all the parts, stick a 15mm solder ring end stop (yorkie plumbing fitting) in the end of the short rubber hose that link the metal pipework to the pipework on the exhaust manifolds and secure in place with the original spring clip.  This is so that you don't get exhaust gasses blowing out of them  ;)

I can do you photos and send you the pipe fittings if you want - I've since moved onto 3.2 manifolds so the pipework is gone and I kept the "blanking" plugs.

Presume you meant FUSE  ;)

It's the 30 or 40 amp one nearest the big purple relays in the engine bay box.

Remember to pull the wiring plug off the air valve (where your blown hose attaches) or you'll have exhaust gasses blowing out of there  :)

They all go there. Check the (metal) one way valve is operating properly, if so simply ignore it. If not, you want to block the SAI pipes near the exhaust manifolds.

Can you just remove the fuse and leave the pipework alone?

I take it that it's the SAI that makes the v6 sound beefy on a cold start
