:(
A reminder how lethal an HGV can be if the driver is not on the ball. A mate of mine got killed in practically the same kind of indicent on the A1. Left a pregnant wife never to see his baby daughter who was born a couple of months later.
2 died in his car (himself and a colleague on the way to a meeting), more fatalities in the car behind him and the car in front.
It's a bit distasteful to report such things in this manner, IMHO, and I'm glad it doesn't happen in this country, but only by seeing it can you really appreciate how awful these things are.

About 7 years ago i was going though West Wellow on the A36 in a 2.0 omega GLS saloon and it was a 50 MPH road and all the cars in front had stopped so i to come to a stop and about 10 seconds later i happend to glance in my rear view mirror and it was full of white. The next thing i knew i had a guy telling me that ambulance was on its way and they where pushing me of the road. The lorry driver had been doing 50 MPH and just not seen the cars in front because he was doing paper work. My omega was about 4 foot shorter and as you can imagine fit for the scrap yard aswas the escort van and mondeo that was in front of me. The paramedic said that if i had been in a cavailer or 405 pug i may not of been so lucky. This is one of the resons why i drive omegas because i walked away from that one.

not even a mighty mig could have survived that :o

Tis a bit wild.
When I worked as an RGN in A&E you would not believe some of the mangled messes that came in from RTA's. It is not pretty. Makes you think about your own mortality... to an unhealthy extent sometimes.

link not working for me :(

This is why I always worry about driving through tunnels. The thought of being trapped is just unbearable.
One might be a safe driver, but it is the others around you that you have to look out for.

have seen this clip a few times and it turns my stomach every time. i cant understand how this type of stuff is allowed to be shown or what kind of person would think it was entertaining enough to upload in the first place

You were lucky - I like them too for safety reasons
