Mines knackered :(
Rubber seal is totally shagged and the whip antenna has been abuse so much by my ladders ect that it is very loose.
I'm looking replacing it with a shark fin type contraption which will not interfere with the crap I carry on the roof bars.
I've got a 2013 / CID fitted so will need gps as well as RF in there.
Anybody fitted one of these that actually works well ?
Can you paint them ?
-
Yes you can paint them and one for a suitably equipped Insignia should suffice ;)

You can buy a new seal for less than a fiver.

Cheers Al
I'll have a look for one when I get back next Friday :)

Personally I wouldn't replace it with a Shark Fin / Bee Sting Type. not unless you live within spitting distance of the Radio Transmitters, the ones fitted to the Estates are proper FM Freq 1/4 Wave Resonance wire spun around a fibre rod.
As for the Base grommet, In the past Ive used a rubber Car mat, found a piece thats flat (un molded) and using the Base as a template cut one out to suit with good results. ;)

I did that with some rubber sheet I bought for making new handle grommets for Deb's 1300, before I found new ones. At £5, it isn't worth getting the tools out

Unfortunately I haven't found anywhere that does the ones for the GPS base saloon or estate aerials, only the ones above for a standard aerial.
